This watch is one of the first Edward Piguet tourbillons to use a mineral crystal face, and its a real showstopper. It debuted at the SIHH in Geneva back in 2001. Each watch is unique because of the natural patterns in the rutilated quartz. AP could not use regular tools to shape this stone, so they had to use a slow process that sands down the crystal down a small bit at a time. Combining this high-tech dial with a classic tourbillon and that sleek Art Deco case makes for a seriously impressive timepiece. Believed to have energizing metaphysical powers, rutilated quartz has long been used for feng shui and talisman purposes.
